Skype for business can be used with our district Office365 Account Logins. This allows for a conference call or online lesson call that can be recorded. Participants can be invited and join in a webinar type session. To access Skype for Business on a PC simply search your PC for Skype for Business and on a Mac the release of Office Products 2016 will allow for the use of Skype for Business.
Planning Your Online Call
Preparing
Be sure the computer you are using has Skype for Business
and you can sign in with your Office365 Login.
If you do not have an Office365 login simply contact your tech coach.
Before the call decide on the options that are most appropriate for the meeting.
Inviting Participants
Once the presenter has started the call click the three dots in the right corner
to get the online meeting link under Meeting Entry Info. This link will take participants
to your meeting.

Starting the Call
Click on a contact and choose the style of meeting you would like to host.
Video Call, Voice Call, or Present your screen.
Then choose MEET NOW
Inviting Additional Participants
If you notice someone is missing from your call simple click the participants icon in the top left of the screen and
invite additional participants.
Recording the Call
In order to have a record or archived version of the call simply go to
the three dots in the right lower corner and click Start Recording. This is also where
the call can be paused and stopped. *You must always inform participants that the call will be recorded.
Creating an Interactive Environment During The Call
Inserting Whiteboards, Polls, Questions and Answers
Click on the type of call icon in the lower center of the screen and choose
more. The presenter can create one of these interactive tools to gauge the
audience and get feedback to guide the call.
Ending the Call and Managing Recordings From Your Call
Stopping the Recording
Click the three dots in the lower right corner and choose the top choice to either pause or stop the recording.
How to Manage Call Recordings
Under the same pop up menu click Manage Recordings to see the recorded call. The presenter can now publish the
call to the computer for later reference.
Ending the Call
When the call is complete press the red phone icon to end the call. The user has the chance to Rejoin the call
in the left lower corner of the screen by simple choosing Rejoin then Skype Call.
Making your Skype for Business work for you. Look in the right corner and click the three dots for tools.

Instant Message - It's a good idea to leave a message for a teacher just before you start a call to be sure they are ready
Voice Message - Leave a voice message for classrooms who are in a challenging time zone (see Mystery Skype Variations)
Audio Test - Kids can see how they will look and sound on screen
Share Screens - You can share what's on your screen with the caller
Group Calls are free - you can have video calls with up to 10 people

Talking to people all over the world, in a different language, is now possible with Skype Translator in the updated Skype for Windows Desktop.
To set up Skype Translator:
Select your contact.
Select the Globe icon and turn Translator On.
Select your contact's current language under their name, and from the drop down, choose the language for translation while instant messaging or to hear the translations while in a call.
Wearing headphones is the best way to understand the translations while on a voice or video call.
On a call, as you or your contact speaks, it will be translated in your headphones and the translations will also appear on your screen.
Remember to speak clearly and wait for the translations to appear.
